Top 1.43 ct Natural Zambian Emerald Certified. It is a picture of our photographer. He is a great professional but never photographed emeralds. Pretty soon he learned (the hard way) that.
Emeralds don't want to be be photographed and attempts are punishable by pictures that will cause a nervous breakdown. Many emeralds cannot be photographed at all usually the best. One of the most important properties of the emeralds is inner glow, which is light and cannot be photographed. Photographer has a choice between dull lifeless rock and total discoloration. But he was a professional and found a way.Masterpiece of a great post-impressionist artist showing surrealistic narcotic hallucinations of an alien from the remote galaxy. Nobody including him knows what it is, but picture contains photographer's message: Of course it is not an emerald... But look at the skills and vision of the true master! Glow is substituted by exaggerated brilliance for which he used myriads of strategically placed lights. This is number 3 fortunately.
I would prefer (rarer luck) what I call convincing discoloration when discoloration more or less successfully simulates inner glow. I posted Picture 2, which is not picture of the real stone but shows its nature and character much better. Gorgeous perfectly clean, exceptionally transparent, brilliant and glowing top stone of the beautiful color! GIA certificate is available upon request, but frankly I don't know why some may want it if a stone is emerald (or tanzanite). Any not only gemologist but experienced dealer needs just a brief look to say if a stone natural or synthetic or diffused.
